A song about homesickness
Homesickness can pop up suddenly in a smell, a word or the sound of someone on the phone. A song may keep that missing close, without suggesting your current place is wrong or that going back is the only solution.
What a smell can suddenly bring back
In an unknown kitchen something suddenly smells like before, or a voice message ends with a trusted expression. Choose such a small lead for the bigger missing. Home can be a house, but also a time, a language or the self-evidence with which someone knew how you felt.
What do you long for, and when do you feel that strongest? Describe a sensory memory, a missed ritual and your current place; should the song mainly give recognition or also offer some air?
